Nissan name first employed in 1930sIn 1928, Yoshisuke Aikawa founded the actual holding company Nihon Sangyo (日本産業 Japan Industries or Nihon Sectors). The name 'Nissan' originated during the 1930s as an abbreviation[14] officially used on the Tokyo stock market place for Nihon Sangyo. This company was the famous Nissan "Zaibatsu" including Tobata Casting and Hitachi. At this time Nissan controlled foundries and auto parts businesses, but Aikawa did certainly not enter automobile manufacturing until 1933.The zaibatsu eventually grew to add in 74 firms, and became the fourth-largest inside Japan during World War II.In 1931, DAT Jidosha Seizo became connected to Tobata Casting, and was merged straight into Tobata Casting in 1933. Nissan Electric motor founded in 1934In 1934, Aikawa separated the widened automobile parts division associated with Tobata Casting and incorporated it being a new subsidiary, which he named Nissan Engine Co., Ltd.
